Deputy CEO, Secure Information and Communication Systems - Thales
In the wake of the signing of the strategic partnership between Thales and Google Cloud and the creation of S3NS in 2022, this announcement delivers on the ambition shared by both groups to offer an unmatched solution on the market, now available to all public and private organizations. As a French-law company fully controlled by Thales, S3NS committed to deploying one of the most comprehensive SecNumCloud-qualified solutions on the market within three years of its creation. This commitment has now been fulfilled.
The SecNumCloud framework is the most stringent cloud security standard in Europe. France is currently the only country to require its application for sensitive public-sector data, demonstrating the State’s commitment to ensuring optimal protection of French citizens’ data.
PREMI3NS is operated and administered exclusively by S3NS employees within datacenters located in France. All cloud technologies and their updates are received in a quarantine zone, analyzed and validated by S3NS, before being deployed into production within an environment that is also administered exclusively by S3NS.
PREMI3NS, SecNumCloud-qualified and available for several months through the “Early Adopters” program, is already used by around thirty pioneering customers. S3NS is currently supporting companies in the insurance sector (MGEN, Matmut, AGPM), industry (Thales, Birdz, a Veolia subsidiary), finance (Qonto, BConnect), as well as services (Club Med) in their gradual migration to the “Trusted Cloud”, leveraging the combined expertise of Thales and Google Cloud.
In addition, EDF has recently announced the selection of S3NS for the storage, processing, and enhancement of the Group’s strategic data, and Thales is already using PREMI3NS for its internal information systems and engineering developments.
PREMI3NS provides a broad catalog of IaaS, PaaS, and CaaS services, enabling organizations to operate their most sensitive applications in a high-performance, trusted environment. The offering is built on proven, foundational Google Cloud technologies such as Compute Engine for virtual machine management, Cloud Storage for object storage, and Cloud SQL for relational databases. This robust foundation provides access to the full power, innovation, and resilience of the cloud through advanced managed services, including Google Kubernetes Engine for containerization, BigQuery, the market-leading, highly scalable serverless data warehouse that facilitates AI adoption, as well as state-of-the-art solutions for network management and interconnections.

This comprehensive service portfolio will continue to expand over the coming months. In particular, S3NS is preparing the integration of generative AI solutions, reaffirming its commitment to providing customers with continuous access to the most innovative technologies within a trusted framework.
The SecNumCloud 3.2 qualification of PREMI3NS, the Trusted Cloud by S3NS, makes tangible an environment where trust and innovation converge to support the success of the most critical projects. By getting started today, S3NS customers gain a strategic advantage in securing the future of their data, beginning with their most sensitive data.
An alliance between Thales, the French leader in cybersecurity in Europe, and Google Cloud, a global leader in cloud technologies, dedicated to driving innovation, S3NS offers public institutions and private companies, keen to further protect their most sensitive data, highly secure public cloud solutions to help them transition to a trusted cloud that meets the criteria of the ANSSI SecNumCloud standard.
